As the rapper performed during halftime of the Bucks’ game against the Timberwolves, All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and some of his teammates practised a few shots while Ja Rule took the mic at centre court.

Ja Rule, who previously teamed up with embattled Fyre Festival mastermind Billy McFarland, was quickly roasted as a result.

The Bucks were celebrating “90s night” at their home stadium, Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, and right from the start you could tell it was heading for a trainwreck.

“They said this was Nineties night, so they brought out a 2000s artist,” Ja Rule said.

“But my album came out in ‘99 so I guess that counts.”Sound and tech issues delayed the start of the performance and forced the artist to wait awkwardly on stage while players continued to shoot hoops all around him.

He then received the silent treatment from Milwaukee fans during his performance when his call-outs to fans were met with awkward silence both during and in between songs.

“We ready? Are we ready,” the rapper barked into the mic only to receive no feedback from the Bucks crowd.

“I guess not.”

He was shredded on social media for the flop.“Ja Rule came out for a Milwaukee Bucks 90’s special and no one seemed to care,” posted one Twitter user.

“The moment Ja Rule realised he is completely irrelevant now,” wrote another.Ja Rule took to social media after the game to respond to some of his critics — including the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were on the road to play Milwaukee on Sunday (AEDT).

After the Timberwolves tweeted some jokes about the spectacular flop, the artist responded by placing a 30-year curse on the Wolves — and suggested former No. 1 draft pick and NBA All Star centre Karl Anthony Towns will walk out on the team as a result.

Rockets vs Hawks

Rockets vs Hawks : The Houston Rockets look to stay hot when they play host to the Atlanta Hawks at the Toyota Center on Monday night. Rockets experiment without Harden, now host Hawks. James Harden carried a heavy load for such an extended period that it was difficult to predict how the Houston Rockets would play in his absence on Saturday, particularly against the reigning NBA champions.

Kenneth Faried started in Harden’s place and delivered 20 points and 10 rebounds. Clint Capela grabbed 15 boards. Before we know it, the 2019 NBA Draft will be upon us and the Chicago Bulls will likely have to make a franchise defining move among the lottery selections early in the first round.

Depending on what the front office of the Chicago Bulls is planning to do with standout shooting guard Zach LaVine over the course of the next few seasons, the look for this franchise in the 2019 NBA Draft at the position could shift dramatically. Foreseeing the Bulls back court plan between LaVine and point guard Kris Dunn is nearly impossible.

What we do know is that the back court for the Chicago Bulls needs either a clear direction or a significant upgrade this summer. Dunn and LaVine are solid young pieces for this franchise and definitely serve their purpose, but we might never see either emerge as a star. The Bulls do need some player to emerge as a potential star in the NBA so it can find someone or something to build around.

Moreover, the solution to that looming question for the Chicago Bulls could lie in this 2019 NBA Draft class. This is a very strong set of prospects in this draft class in general. Shooting guard isn’t the strongest position, but this group is deep and versatile. The shooting guards in this draft make them a very intriguing group.

Washington Wizards centre Thomas Bryant plays the game in an emotional manner and it almost cost him dearly against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.

First the big man stood his ground, protecting the rim with a huge block on a rampaging Doug McDermott but it was his wild celebration that drew the most reaction.

After tumbling to the ground after the blocked shot Bryant got up swinging his arm wildly in an emphatic celebration, and in doing so he almost landed a punch on the chin of NBA referee Phenizee Ransom, leaving the commentators stunned.Had Bryant connected it’s unclear what the penalty would have been but Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert was fined $US25,000 in 2017 for intentionally putting his hands on an official.

Bryant was clearly fired up going into the game after being benched in favour of recent recruit Bobby Portis and finished the game with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, while Bradley beal had 35 points.

Their combined effort wasn’t enough for the Wizards though as they went down 119-112 to the Pacers after Bryant had brought them to within three points when he hit a 3-pointer with 28 seconds left. Indiana, who were without star centre Myles Turner for the game were led by Thad Young, who had 22 points. Those hoping to see Anthony Davis go up against LeBron James in New Orleans were left disappointed as the Pelicans opted to rest their wantaway star for the second night of a back-to-back.

The move drew the ire of plenty of Pelicans and NBA fans on social media, especially with Los Angeles rumoured to be a very possible destination for Davis as a free agent.

One local analyst in particular seems to have had enough of the Davis saga, calling for him to leave the Big Easy for good.

Fletcher Mackel, the sports anchor for the local NBC affiliate made the call asserting it was “time for Anthony Davis to accept responsibility for the mess he’s caused” in New Orleans, on his twitter account.Davis of course requested to be traded away from New Orleans during the previous trade period but the Pelicans rejected the Lakers’ offers for him.

he has since said he would entertain going to any other NBA teams but the Lakers and the Boston Celtics are the leading contenders for his services.

New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry denied that benching Davis for the match-up had anything to do with the Lakers being involved though.

“If you’re looking along the lines of having any significance because we’re playing the Lakers that had nothing to do with it,” Gentry said before the game.

“If we were playing the Baltimore Claws we would sit him out that game too, OK?”

I think he’ll tell you that any decision made by the team, we sit down and talk to him about it.“It’s just a regular-season game. It’s one of 82 so I don’t see anything to be excited about other than the play on the court.”It was a decision that ultimately paid off for the Pelicans who ran out easy 128-115 winners against an uninspired Lakers side as Jrue Holiday scored a team high 27 points and Julius Randle had 24.

For the Lakers James had 27 points and 12 assists and Brandon Ingram 29 points but they got very little from their bench, who combined for just 24 points as the New Orleans bench combined for 42.Eric Gordon scored 25 points with four 3-pointers, Chris Paul converted two free throws with 1:08 left on the way to 23, and the Houston Rockets outplayed the Golden State Warriors without ill NBA scoring leader James Harden for a 118-112 victory.

Stephen Curry’s 3 with 1:57 to play pulled the Warriors to 114-108 then his two free throws at 1:26 made it a four-point game before Houston came through at the line.

Kevin Durant scored 29 points and Curry added 25 with five 3s, nine rebounds and seven assists as the Warriors had their five-game home winning streak snapped.

Early in the fourth, Golden State’s Draymond Green exited the game with a sprained left ankle after grabbing at his foot in clear pain from stepping on teammate DeMarcus Cousins’ foot.

While Harden also has a strained neck, coach Mike D’Antoni said the reigning MVP and league scoring leader probably could have played through that. Harden hurt the neck when he got hit during a practice leading up to Thursday’s road loss to the Lakers and woke up sore the next day.

“He might’ve played even with a sore neck, he had a little touch of the flu. It was a combination of everything,” D’Antoni said.

It was a decision that ultimately paid off for the Pelicans who ran out easy 128-115 winners against an uninspired Lakers side as Jrue Holiday scored a team high 27 points and Julius Randle had 24.

Pacers vs Pistons

Pacers vs Pistons : A bench-clearing brawl broke out between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals. This would happen as soon as Eddie House gets some meaningful minutes Detroit coach Dwane Casey and Indiana’s Nate McMillan aren’t particularly excited over back-to-back victories following the NBA’s All-Star break. The Pistons and Pacers will try to keep their streaks

Since his college days at Texas, Tucker has been relentlessly searching for sneakers. As he told The Undefeated over All-Star Weekend, he got his start on eBay and never looked back.

“I actually went to the bank and got a debit card so I could get an eBay account and buy shoes,” Tucker said. “My first debit card … was because of eBay, so I could buy shoes.”

Though he laughs now, the passion still hasn’t faded. While most assume the reigning sneaker champ has every last model he has ever wanted, they would be almost right. He recently and finally tracked down a near-mythical pair of the “Tokyo” Air Jordan 5 that have long evaded him, and Tucker excitedly wore them in the very first Houston Rockets game after the All-Star break.

Made in 2011 in limited quantities for the launch of Jordan Brand’s T23 boutique in Tokyo, the yellow nubuck shoes were originally thought to only have released in up to a size 13. The unique negative space “23” logo along the heel, designed by Nike’s Mark Smith, only added to the appeal.

“I’ve been looking for those for years!” texted Tucker. “They said no [size] 14s were made, but they made a couple samples and these were Ray Allen’s.”

Since debuting his second Jordan signature sneaker in early January, Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Russell Westbrook has been hijacking the main stage that is the arena entryway to unveil his latest themed editions on a nightly basis. He has coordinated a construction worker outfit with a neon and orange colorway, hauled in Super Soaker-inspired packaging for a linking colorway and even had a special “Bear Jordan” edition drafting off of a teddy bear and a Valentine’s chocolate box.

His latest stunt featured unkempt flowing orange hair along the box lid and a design inspired by the shorts of none other than Chuckie Finster, the lovable cartoon character from the 1990s show “Rugrats.” Westbrook later took the floor in a colorway bringing the theme full circle, with hits of orange, blue and purple throughout, and Chuckie’s shorts pattern along the collar.

Fellow Jordan signature athlete Chris Paul also has been ramping up his themed colorways this season, unveiling a new pair of his eleventh model inspired by Fred Flintstone. Worn during Houston’s impressive short-handed victory over the Golden State Warriors, Paul poured in 23 points with 17 assists in the black-and-orange tunic-inspired printed pair. Fred’s trademark light blue tie came to life along the shoe’s forefoot strap, and according to CP3, “The Flintstones” edition is just a taste of what’s to come.

“I got some fun ones coming out around the playoffs and through the summer,” Paul said. “A few shoes paying homage to some of my favorite TV shows and stuff like that. I probably can’t tell you everything, but we got some fun stuff coming.”

Elsewhere in the league, players got into the school spirit. Golden State All-Star Kevin Durant donned a burnt-orange pair of his KD 11s made for his beloved Texas Longhorns, while Philadelphia 76ers small forward Jimmy Butler honored Tomball High School atop the heel of his latest team Jordan sneakers. Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. broke out a rare LeBron 6 originally made for New York’s Christ The King in 2008; while the Pennsylvania native didn’t attend the Queens-based private school, the decade-old pair remains one of the more exclusive and rare LeBron school editions of the era.

NEW YORK — The New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs at home Sunday night to avoid the wrong kind of NBA history.

The Knicks’ 130-118 victory snapped an 18-game home losing streak. Had New York lost Sunday, the club would have tied the 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks for the longest home losing streak in NBA history.

Damyean Dotson led the Knicks with 27 points, hitting eight 3-pointers. Dennis Smith Jr. had 19 points and 13 assists and Mitchell Robinson added 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks off the bench.

New York (12-48) last won at home Dec. 1.

Earlier in the season, the Knicks lost a franchise-record 18 consecutive games.

The club hopes to use a top draft pick in June to further its rebuild. Per the new lottery odds this season, the three teams with the worst records will share a 14 percent chance of getting the No. 1 overall pick. The Knicks enter play Monday with the second-worst record in the NBA, two games behind Cleveland (14-46). The Phoenix Suns (11-50) have the league’s worst mark.

In addition to having a top draft pick, New York also projects to have $70 million in cap space this summer — enough to sign two max free agents.

The San Antonio Spurs play the seventh game of their monumental eight-game Rodeo Road Trip on Sunday when they visit the struggling New York Knicks. Tipoff from Madison Square Garden is at 7:30 p.m. ET. San Antonio is 1-5 on the trip and has slid to seventh place in the Western Conference, while the Knicks are in dire straits after losing their franchise-record 18th straight home game on Friday to Minnesota. Bookmakers list San Antonio as an 8.5-point favorite. The Over-Under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 224 in the latest Spurs vs. Knicks odds, up from an open of 221.5. Before you make any Spurs vs. Knicks picks and NBA predictions, see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

This model, which simulates every game 10,000 times, is crushing its NBA picks. It entered Week 19 of the 2018-19 NBA season with a sterling 217-164 record on all top-rated picks, returning more than $4,000 to anybody following them. And it has been particularly red-hot on its A-rated NBA picks against the spread, entering Week 19 on a blistering 44-30 run. Anybody who has followed it is way up.

Now the model has dialed in on Spurs vs. Knicks. We can tell you it is leaning under, but its much stronger pick is against the spread, saying one side cashes in nearly 60 percent of simulations. That one is available exclusively at SportsLine.

The model is well aware of the Spurs’ incredible offensive efficiency. They rank third in the NBA in that category, with DeMar DeRozan (21.4 points per game, 6.2 assists per game) and LaMarcus Aldridge (20.7, 9.0 rebounds per game) leading six players who average double-figures in scoring. San Antonio, which is tied with Utah at 33-27 but holds the tiebreaker for the No. 7 seed, has everything to play for, while the Knicks appear to be tanking. The Spurs have circled this game as a must-win, knowing they visit a much better Brooklyn team on Monday to conclude the trip.

But just because the Spurs are loaded offensively doesn’t mean they’ll cover a huge number on the road Sunday.

The model also knows New York has played respectably in its last two games, beating the Hawks by 15 and falling to Minnesota by 11. The Knicks are facing a Spurs team that’s covered only one of its last nine outings.

Rookie guard Allonzo Trier continues to improve, having scored at least 19 points in two of his last three outings. Dunk contest participant Dennis Smith Jr. has dished out seven assists in each of his last two games. The Knicks are determined not to make dubious NBA history with another home loss.
